Heather McDonough

I have been making photographs for over thirty years. I am an artist and lecturer, I teach Photography at The Cass, London Met University. I photograph in a variety of ways to suit different commissions and projects. My personal work has family and relationships at the heart. My work has an ethereal quality, often the subject is light itself, illuminating a variety of scenes.

I employ a variety of photographic techniques to make my work. I use large plate cameras, medium format film cameras, digital still and video cameras. I am well versed in printing black & white and colour film. I have recently returned to working with cameraless techniques, Cyanotypes & Saltprints. I am learning book-binding and I have helped to set up an artists photo book collective, A&E Photobooks.

Heather makes individually crafted photographic lamp shades from her own photographic collection.
